Messi: European Player of the Year
FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi won the 2008-2009 Uefa award for the European Footballer of the Year.
The Argentinian also won the award for the Club Forward of the Year while Barca playmaker Xavi Hernandez was voted Club Midfielder of the Year.

This is a joke, there is no way edwin van de sar should even be in the top 5 keepers in england. the only reason he went 11 games with out conceding this year was because of the 2 defenders in front of him. If he is so good why is he retiring this year
